Stuttgart – For its communications activities relating to the 125th anniversary of the company’s establishment and the 150th anniversary of its founder’s birth, the Bosch Group has won more than 30 awards. National and international associations and organizations honored work in print and electronic media, as well as events.
“In the anniversary year, we traced an arc from the past to the future in the form of many communications activities,” says Uta-Micaela Dürig, Senior Vice President Corporate Communications, Brand Management, and Sustainability.
“We are overjoyed that the concrete form we gave to our ideas – whether central anniversary gala, anniversary website, or the photographic volume ‘Global Impressions of Bosch’ – have met with so much recognition. For us, these awards are confirmation of the quality and creativity of our work. At the same time, they will spur us on to greater things.”
Awards for associate gift and anniversary website
In September 2011, the book project “Global Impressions of Bosch” received the International German PR award, which is presented by DPRG (the German Public Relations Society) and the FAZ Institute, and is the industry’s highest award in the German-speaking world.
The volume of photographs was presented as a personal gift to the company’s roughly 300,000 associates worldwide. It is an unusual portrait of the company: in May 2010, 125 photographs were taken at the same instant at 125 places around the world.
Taken together, they give a vivid impression of the company’s diversity and global presence. Internationally, this publication won the silver Spotlight Award. The Spotlight Awards are conferred annually by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) in the U.S., as part of a global communications competition.
The anniversary website also won three awards: apart from the Red Dot Design Award in the Online Communication category, the “BoschGlobe” won the silver Econ Award for corporate communications, and was declared the winning study by the German Designer Club in its Good Design 12 competition.
German business film award for two Bosch productions
In addition to a bronze award presented by the Integrated TV & Video Association, the Bosch corporate film “A special kind of company” won first prize in the Films from Industry category at the 44th German business film awards ceremony.
The judges were especially impressed by the way the film combined a clear, unpretentious narrative with dynamic and innovative imagery. The film, they said, told the story of a company that was exemplary in its combination of innovation and responsibility, technology and quality of life, and tradition and vision.
And there was another first prize at the same event – for the Bosch department responsible for promoting occupational training programs in the Films in the New Media (Internet) category. The award-winning web special focuses on Bosch as an employer, and describes possible careers at the company.
The German business film award, which is presented annually, was launched in 1968 by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. This makes it Germany’s oldest film award.
Anniversary gala wins the day
In the Corporate Events category, the Bosch Group’s anniversary gala won the EVA Event gold award. The award is presented by the German Forum for Event Marketing Agencies, and honors events and live communication activities.
According to the judges, Bosch had spectacularly succeeded in making the solidarity and culture of the company tangible for its roughly 2,000 international guests from politics, business, and society.
“At last, a format that gave a different angle on the anniversary theme,” the judges said. With its creativity, innovation, and courage, the event was likely to resonate for a long time, they added. Internationally, the gala has been nominated for the Gala Award presented by Special Events Magazine. The award ceremony will be held in Tampa, Florida, in January 2012.
Bosch-Zünder honored for seventh year running at Inkom Grand Prix
At the Inkom Grand Prix in the anniversary year, the Bosch-Zünder was singled out by the German Public Relations Society for the seventh year running as Germany’s best in-house newspaper.
And in London, the Federation of European Industrial Editors Associations (FEIEA) named the newspaper Europe’s best internal multi-language publication and gave it an award for the best illustration.
Beyond Europe as well, the newspaper has garnered recognition: in the In-house Publications, Customer Magazines, Annual Reports, and Internal Electronic Media category, the League of American Communications Professionals conferred its platinum Inspire Award on Bosch-Zünder.
